Mákina, cantos gregorianos del Monasterio de Montserrat, música industrial y algo de black metal. A partir de tres recopilaciones de música culturalmente divergentes y mezcladas, casi todo el tiempo, las tres a la vez al modo rizomático de un mashup, se conforma el mix que Marc O'Callaghan de Coàgul ha hecho para Casi Baile. La Vía Extática, el arrebato compartido entre el monje y el raver.
Acumular capas de diferentes realidades unas sobre otras y hacerlas coincidir es su manera habitual de trabajar y debe ser por esto que el proceso no le ha resultado extraño, pese a que pincha poco, y solo lo ha hecho en un par de ocasiones hasta la fecha.
Coágul es un colectivo de una sola persona, un proyecto del artista catalán Marc O’Callaghan que empezó siendo algo mas amplio y que ahora se limita a lo musical. Pero el trabajo de Marc es muy abierto y no cabe en esa división tradicional entre música y obra gráfica. “Cada obra surge de una idea y puede materializarse a través de distintos medios.”
Como consecuencia de esta manera de entender su producción se encuentra últimamente inmerso en la construcción de un sistema de clasificación de su propio trabajo, El Palacio de la Memoria, un sistema que basado en la lógica de lo que en la antigüedad se llamó Arte de la Memoria se compone de cuatro pabellones que encarnan distintas maneras de clasificar, donde los medios se ven relegados a los niveles inferiores.
Marc O’Callaghan es un artista heterodoxo tanto en lo disciplinar como en sus referentes e influencias. Su obra desmonta constantemente los sistemas lógicos establecidos en pos de nuevas vías de conocimiento, y lo hace visitando otras épocas y cruzando corrientes de pensamiento. Su obsesión por el mundo antiguo no parece tanto fruto de una inquietud historiográfica como de recolectar aquello que puede encontrarse en los posos que deja la Historia.
Además de Coágul Marc tiene muchos otros proyectos, presentes, futuros y pasados, como Herpes, Tres Cruces, Pedraforca, Crani Sèptic, y algunos que ni recuerda..
Ha colaborado en Mort Al Juny (proyecto de versiones de Death In June con Daniel Sedcontra y Adriana Petit), con Quinohiveu (proyecto del poeta Antoni Mateu) clausurando con una performance su mural Barcelona Ciutat Purgatori, con Ex Abrupto (colectivo nómada de arte del que forma parte intermitentemente principalmente en lo performático, con Eduald Pla, alma mater del grupo, y Zoë Valls, hija de Vagina Dentata Organ), improvisando con Jaco (Larry Rodríguez) y Daniel Sedcontra, con Amaia Garrosa (Soizu), con Anna Subirana en Gràcia Territori Sonor, también en Gràcia Territori Sonor con el cocinero Marco Bellonzi, con Una Bèstia Incontrolable y Pharmakon en el ciclo BCNmp7 en el CCCB de Barcelona, con Señora en una de las jornadas Dual Club en Espacio Tangente de Burgos, recitando con Zoë Valls, Albert Serra, Viçenc Altaió y otros en una exposición del pintor Jordi Pagès en El Taller de Tabakov en Cadaqués, con Escama Serrada, con Cadena, con Arnau Sala (Exoteric Continent, Anòmia) grabando un disco desde el 2011 que pretende ser una encarnación sonora de Les 12 Places de Gràcia, con Polígono Hindú Astral (Polígono Coagular Astral al juntarse)..

Marc O'Callaghan is a heterodox artist in his discipline and in his references and influences. His work constantly dismantles the established logical systems in search of new ways of knowledge, and he does so by crossing ages and currents of thought. His obsession with the ancient world does not seem so much the result of a historiographical interest as of collecting what can be found in the grounds left by History.
