Existe un término para designar lo irracional e inexplicable en el arte del flamenco. Es el "duende", palabra utilizada por los gitanos andaluces para referirse al carisma propio del artista y ahora extendida al uso popular. Ese encanto misterioso e inefable que todos sienten y que ningún filósofo explica.

El "duende" es al flamenco lo que la naturaleza salvaje al romanticismo alemán; la fuerza grandiosa e imprevisible que se opone a la razón.

Un sobrecogedor mar embravecido.

There is a term to designate the irrational and inexplicable in the art of flamenco. It is the "duende", a word used by the Andalusian gypsies to refer to the artist's charisma and now extended to popular use. This mysterious and ineffable charm that everyone feels but no philosopher explains.

The "duende" is to flamenco what wild nature to German romanticism; the grandiose and unpredictable force that opposes reason.
